Cake decorators- question about chocolate sugarpaste.

I have to make a cake with chocolate sugarpaste roses. I've bought some choc sugarpaste because I am rubbish at making sugarpaste-- don't have time to make my own. Question is, can I make them in advance, or will they discolour/go weird? Hoe should I store them too?

Thanks.

yes you can make them in advance, however i have only ever done this a day ahead and kept them on stay fresh mats.
but being sugarpaste they should keep in a tin.

I've never had any form of sugarpaste go off. It just dries out. I've made various suagarpaste roses and always made them in advance. You can't decorate a cake with 50 roses and make them all on the day the cake is to b eaten! Let them air-dry on mats or even on the cake itself, if you attach them as soon as they're made. Should be fine.
