My little girl wants a fairy castle cake for her party in a couple of weeks time and I am panicking as not artistic at all. Is anyone willing to share a design and recipe/instructions please ? Thanks Mumsnetters

This video looks fairly straight forward...I'd go for a less vibrant shade though!

How about this one? It's not mine but it looks rather lovely and probably quite simple - square base and mini-rolls for towers.

I have Debbie Brown's 50 Easy Party Cakes book, some of which are actually easy (many of which are not!). There's a great Fairy Castle in there which is basically a load of swiss rolls and mini rolls cut to different heights, covered in pale pinky white icing and with turrets made out of stacks of mini marshmallows piled into cones. There are silver balls for window slits too.

My mum made one for my sisters

esssentialy recatangle cake slabs for the walls, squares on the cormers(probably rectangle in 1/2) with upside down ice cream cones

loads of icing and sprinkles.... it looked FAB

I made one just like the one Judy linked to, but I covered the cones with rolled out fondant icing so they looked like turrets, not just cones. I did mine for a boy and covered the cake with grey buttercream.
