Please help, for too long now our dinner times have become stuck in one long huge rutt of the same things over and over and over again.

DD announced this evening that she's fed up of the same dinners Blush she's right but I just can't seem to stop it. The problems really stem from a fussy ds who just refuses to eat much. He is getting better. Slowly and I feel now is the time to force the issue a little. Not too much, but to at least get him to try foods.

I need help ladies, please tell me the child friendly dinners you cook. I know they should eat what we do, but given the small variety they have at the moment I feel this is something to aim for, not dive straight in with. Dc are 6 and 3(very nearly 4).

TIA

Ok I am linking to the other side Blush but this is how I learnt to make rissotto www.netmums.com/food/Chicken_Risotto.842/.
Now I just follow the basic recipe but add anything that needs using up. We had tuna, celery and pepper rissoto last week with loads of cheese mixed in, the DC loved it.

Pork with garlic, thyme, cumin and sweet potato (slow cooker recipe)

We are having sweet potato wedges (dead easy). Cut into wedges, olive oil, hot oven then when done sprinkle with a little paprika or whatever you like.

With chicken salad wraps. Also easy. Just lots of chopped up salady bits peppers, sweetcorn, tomatoes, red onion and cold chicken. Just chuck in what you like. Dc can make their own which adds interest.

Risotto even Blush

this as it is cheap I use milk not cream and only 1oz of cheese, if I haven't got wholemeal flour I use plain white. I never use more than three onions and only cook them in 1 oz of butter. tuesday

these are excellent I cook some and keep the rest as a paste for on toast at lunch with grated carrot. wednesday

this for upping veg intake thursday

making this for tea tonight will not put cream in and serve with carrots, peas, cauliflower and broc.

Flatten chicken breasts between some cling film with a rolling pin. Dip in seasoned flour, egg then breadcrumbs (I use fresh wholemeal then chop lots of herbs in)

Shallow fry, chop into nuggets if desired. After you take them out add a knob of butter to the pan and squeeze in a lemon and pour over the chicken.

This is lovely with baked cheesy mash and salad or veg.
