Out of date puff pastry...

It's a week out of date - or will be tomorrow morning. We have nothing for breakfast! Out of milk and bread. I'm thinking custard and fruit will be fine. Then I thought maybe pastry twists sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon or something?

So first question, will it be ok? I'm usually pretty relaxed about use by dates - if it's not green I'll eat it! It's foil wrapped. Will it smell if it's off?

And second question, what shall I make for breakfast with it?!

TIA

I would have thought it would be fine.
you could cut it into triangles and make sort of pretend croissants?

Check for black/grey specks in it.

I think they are mould.

I have seen it in out of date pastry

Thank you. I love MN for this kind of late night panic when there's no-one in RL mad enough to talk about it!!

Dammit! It had white fluffy mould on! Luckily the milk fairy had been in the night Smile
