Can anyone recommend a TGC paste? I really fancy TGC but am only cookng for me so no point buying all the ingredients however I haven't had much luck with paste before? I prefer the paste to a ready made sauce as will add coconut milk and veg to jazz it up a bit.

Cheers!

Do Nigella's curry in a hurry, it's fantastic.

The one we happen to have is "Thai Taste", and it is good enough.

Sounds lovely

I've taken RIKU and Anons advice and added the garlic, onion and veg and used the Thai Taste paste (selection in local shop a bit poor). Now for sticky rice...

no no no - you don't eat green curry with sticky rice! Sticky rice is for mangos, or som tam, or grilled chicken and other Isan food ... it's like serving lasagne with chips Grin

Rice noodles with a green curry on the other hand is a perfectly acceptable alternative - although still a slightly pale imitation of fresh Khanom chin

Bet it tasted good though

...but I like rice...lol!

What is Khanom chin?

I was looking up rice recipes and there were lots of mango and coconut rice recipes so I might have a go at one of those soon as sounds yummy.

Normal rice is fine for curries - preferably Jasmin - but sticky rice is mostly eaten with North Eastern thai food.. sticky rice just doesn't have the right consistency to go with a curry; it's more suited to less sloppy dishes

Khanom chin is a type of fresh rice noodle that goes really well with a green curry - it's yummie but not really available here, but dried rice noodles make a good alternative

Sticky rice with mango and coconut is wonderful...
