Tasty low-carb suggestions?

I'm battling acne and probable PCOS and have been advised to adopt a low-carb diet. As it is, I probably eat on average two slices of multi-grain bread a day and pasta (whole wheat) a few times a week. Does anyone have any suggestions for cutting carbs - and also dairy and sugar, too? Although on the whole I think I maintain balanced and low-fat diet, my weakness is cakey/pastry things as well as comforty (pasta/pizza) stodge, so it's hard to imagine eliminating these completely...

There is a good book around - Body Blitz Diet, available on Amazon, I realise you aren't on a diet but this does have tasty recipes

if you have a look on the big/slim whatever section there is a low carb thread with lots of great tips and recipes. :)

I make pizza base with flax seed and then you can add your own toppings so it is possible to adapt your favourite foods recipe here

To ease myself into low carbing I followed the Harcombe diet to start with. This helped as I had to ditch the milk and all processed foods but you could still have a serving of brown rice / porridge each day.

As an ex carb addict, I know exactly what you mean wrt not being able to imagine completely eliminating carbs! I adore vegetables, so I've found that the key for me has been having loads of veg at every meal so that I never, ever feel hungry.

Mashed cauliflower makes a fab rice substitute with curries, and i've found that celeriac mash and roast butternut squash are far lovelier than potatoes.

Also, I find I have to up my protein to feel full if I'm not eating carbs. here's my favourite low carb meal for DH and I:

Wrap chicken breasts in parma ham (if they are large, slice them horizontally in half to make two thinner ones - if they're too big they will get dry and horrible).

Place in a roasting dish. Nestle lots of baby tomatoes (or chunks of bigger tomatoes) around. Scatter some garlic cloves in. Add some chunks of butternut.

Drizzle with some olive oil and scatter preferred herbs/dried chilli.

Roast for about 30 minutes.

Delicious and very filling as the chicken/ham fills you up.

Amazon have teh Lw Carb cook book by Amanda cross for £0.01p So it will only cost £2.81 with p+p.

There are some really nice receipes in here such as hot halooumi with fattoush salad.

Like FrottageCod says about BodyBlitz this is a bit of a diet book but it has good recipes.
