Making popcorn

I have promised my kids that I will make them popcorn. I bought popping corn thinking the recipe would be on the packet. I have googled but there seems to be loads of variations.
Please can you tell me the best and easiest way to do it? Thank you

bit of oil in a big saucepan. heat till very hot. cover bottom of pan with popcorn and put lid on. keep pan moving/shaking over heat until pan is full or popping slows down to one every couple of secs.

you can eat this way, or add salt/sugar/butter etc.

Enjoy!

if you're planning to do this a lot, it's worth investing in an air popcorn popper (about £15) which does all this for you!

this is how i do it
non stick saucpan with lid (very important)
glug of olive oil and one curnal
put on the heat wait untill it pops then add the rest
when the popping slows or it looks like its going to overflow (a little goes along way)
take it off the heat pop into a bowl add a sprinkle of salt
or sugar or chinnimon or even tabbasco and papprica

Put a little popcorn in a pyrex bowl, with about half a teaspoon of oil or butter. Put a plate on top. Microwave until the popping slows down - stop before any of the popped corn starts to burn.

Is really easy, and you can see what's going on.
