Nice dessert to follow chilli?

Having friends over on Friday night.

Am doing steak chilli with the usual accompaniments.

Was going to do white choc cheesecake but friend doesn't eat cheesecake.

So.... Something else.

Needs to be made tomorrow day time, not too big (serve 4), and that will keep if we are all too full after dinner.

Had thought about choc brownies and nice vanilla ice cream?

Choc brownies, icecream and strawberries sounds great.

I'd have suggested a meringue otherwise and its only eggwhite and sugar, chuck any old fruit on the top!

Last time I did chilli I did a lime cheesecake thing; but I guess that's out. How about a lemon or lime posset?

SenoritaViva · 24/02/2011 12:58

white choc mousse?

Something with Mango (nice after chilli) and as pointissima says lime is good after chilli. As it's steak I'd go for something light rather than heavy.

This sounds nice

Keeps with the mexican "theme" as well.

Despite being a reasonable cook I've never made meringue Blush it scares me...

Ooh I wanted to say cheesecake

Lemon sorbet? Lemon meringue?

Actually, vanilla ice cream sounds fab with or without the brownies

QuelleLeJeff · 24/02/2011 13:01

meringue is a piece of piss though geordiwminx! so so easy.

geordieminx · 24/02/2011 13:02

Lime posset sounds nice, could serve with wee chocolate dipped biscuits

I know, and I love meringue too... I should try, just not tomorrow Grin

Ok so....
Lime posset or
Choc brownies (I make fab ones) and ice cream with strawberries or raspberries

vote for choc brownies for me! Could always serve up posh with a slice of lime, scoop of icecream and a drizzle of melted choc over the top of it all!

Meringue...easy peasy! But maybe play another day Wink

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/02/2011 16:14

Tiramisu?

EmmelineSpankfirst · 24/02/2011 16:14

Something light and sweet. I would find choc brownies too heavy after chilli.

I'd say lime ice cream - absolutely divine after anything rich. Yell if you want the recipe :-)

Capreece · 24/02/2011 16:18

PS - easiest ice cream in the world. Mix it up and freeze it - no need to beat the ice crystals out.

Figgyrolls · 24/02/2011 16:21

Lime posset or lemon posset - piece of piss to make (sorry Blush) and simply delicious, tbh if you see this make anywhere the mini ones go very well with it (and look so home made!!!!! - I no have to go to waitrose to buy them for dh!)
