Hi please can anyone help?

Took cod fillets out the freezer this morning and just sat cutting them up checking for any bones and now have flakes..... big booo boooo me thinks as I didn't cook the fish before cutting it up!?

How can I go about cooking this and making fishcakes for my 1 year old? Was my first attempt and I dont want to throw the fish away!?

Thanks for any advice very much appreciated x

Plonk them in some water/milk on the hob and poach, then drain it and use :)

Fish cakes

8 oz any fish, fresh or tinned (not in sauce)
1 lb floury old potatoes, mashed with a little butter and cream or milk
1 tbsp sunflower oil
Handful chopped parsley
2 oz plain flour
1 beaten egg
Breadcrumbs (you can make these in a blender ? if you are buying them, choose fresh breadcrumbs rather than golden ones)

Boil and mash the potatoes. Steam or poach the fish if necessary. Remove skin and bones and flake into a bowl. Mix into the mashed potato with the chopped parsley. Now divide the mixture into about a dozen balls, and shape them in your hands to make a fish cake, before coating them in the flour. To cook, fry in sunflower oil until golden, drain on kitchen paper, and serve with a salad or green vegetable. These freeze very well, especially if you have layered them with baking parchment.
