Help! Farinata recipe seems strange!

I found this farinata recipe on another thread. I've mixed 250g of gram flour with 750ml water and it seems way too sloppy. Will it thicken up as it stands for 2 hours? I was expecting a saucy consistency but I've got a big bowl of slop!

Hi LooL00 - hope this isn't too late a response...

I found the mixture very sloppy when I first made it, but it did thicken up slightly (and I mean ever so slightly!). However, I chucked it in the oven anyway, and it turned out okay - actually it was really tasty. I found another recipe online and followed the two - so didn't add cumin or lemon juice, but added fresh chopped rosemary, caramalised onions and some feta cheese (only added the cheese for last 10minutes of cooking). It was really tasty!

Yes. It makes a sloppy mixture and doesn't thicken that much when you let it stand but it is delicious.

I put halved cherry tomatoes and olives in mine and it was lovely.

Must make it again soon - I keep forgetting to make it in time to let it stand.

Actually started again with a different recipe and not so sloppy. it's in the oven right now!
