Going from bottle to cup

HELP!! My 28 month old has just had a developmental review in which I was told that she should not be having her morning milk in a bottle. She only has the one bottle in the morning and none throughout the day. I have tried to give it to her in a sippy cup and in a standard beaker but she just refuses. Is this really something I should be concerned about or should I just leave it until she decides she no longer wants that morning guzzle???

Why on Earth shouldn't she have one bottle a day? Did they give you any good reason at all for this bizarre statement?

Ignore them. One bottle is not going to do any harm at all. Honestly.

She hinted that it was damaging for her teeth. I can understand that if she was continuously sipping from it all day but she drinks the lot in one go then brushes her teeth.

Ignore. And lie next time if you need to!

My DD (30 months) has just given up her morning bottle in the last week. We have had the relaxed approach that she will accept her milk from a cup in her own time and now she has done, she was the same for crawling, walking, talking...

Really? Never heard this. Mine has milk in a bottle morning and evening and water in a tommee tippee beaker with a lid (is this a sippy cup?) during the day.

Something else I'm doing wrong then!

BooBadger · 17/02/2011 09:24

Yes, well thats what I call a sippy cup anyway(?) I find out I'm doing something wrong everyday. And Yes I have come to the conclusion that Mrs Tumbles is right, things usualy work out in their own time. I'm going to try not to make a big thing of it, otherwise i'll probably put her off for good. I shall have to have plenty of yoghurt and cheese on hand until that time!!!
