What would be the best milk substitute in pancake mix?

BG - no don't panic, not until 8th March this year.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 13/02/2011 19:16

OP - could you maybe use water and an extra egg?

mummytime · 13/02/2011 19:18

Its not until March 8th!!!

lulabelleg · 13/02/2011 19:27

I've made pancakes ok with soya milk- Alpro tends to be the best as some others curdle when heated.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 13/02/2011 19:34

No, thank you, sorry to alarm people. You are all right, it's not until Tues 8th March!!

This is for a school to ensure all lovely DC can make pancakes, and I just need to be one step ahead! I have no experience of dairy alternatives, but I don't want anyone left out. Fortunately there are no egg allergies.

Ahh! Hope the soya milk works - are you going to do a trial run first, since you have all that time beforehand? :)

redismyfavourite · 13/02/2011 19:47

oatly milk might work?

or oatly cream

RatherBeOnThePiste · 13/02/2011 19:51

No gluten issues!

I'm so rubbish at pancakes at the best of times, I probably should practice!!
