Our class cake stall is coming up and I want to make a couple of different things - any good suggestions?

omg cake! [dreams about cakey choices]

lemon drizzle cake? banana loaf? blueberry muffins? tea loaf?

I have a recipe for half red and half white cookies (you make dough in two different colours, roll into long strips, twist the two together and then cut into rounds) which is quite fun and could be a valentine's sort of theme?

Oh gosh. cookies. Choc chip, oatmeal and raisin...

someone bought me the hummingbird bakery cookbook last year and I love baking most of the recipies - worth an investment (I'm sure it is reviled as painfully middle class here on MN but the cookies are tasty so there). have fun!

At my DS's school the things that seem to go down the best are just fairy cakes - choc or plain with snazzy sprinkles or mini marshmallows. Then choc krispie cakes or biscuits in the shape of things with icing.

I did a choc fridge cake made with mars bars and maltesers and things which was quite good - think I got the basic recipe from Mumsnet recipes.

Flapjacks seem to go down quite well too.

Yeah, cupcakes, coloured icing, some kind of sweets or sprinkles on top...if you are looking to sell out to the under 11s contingent.

Anything 'brown' tends to get left till all the pink stuff is gone in our school!

Cake pops are very good.

I made some and they sold for 50p a pop.
