How do i prepare?. I brought my first one at the market this morning and dont know what to do with it.

Cut it in half top to bottom, then take the seeds out with a spoon - you need to discard the membranes inside that the seeds stick to.

When I was a kid we used to have them cut in half and then we'd pick the seeds out with a pin and eat them ... takes flippin' hours!

how do you know when they are ready to be eaten. THis one has a really funny shape to it. Not round but kind of hexagon shape.

It'll be ready to eat now - the shape goes a bit strange because the skin dries out slightly.

hi , if you cut it in half and hit it hard a few times on the outside with say a wooden spoon, the seeds come out really quickly without having to pick them out ..
