Desert Island cook book?

With Christmas coming, I fancy adding some new books to my small cookery library.

So... one book only that you couldn't live without.

Sorry this is really boring but the original Delia if you dont have it.
I have squillions of recipe books but still invariably get this out and you just know that things will "work"!

Mine would be my Good Housekeeping cookery book. There is nothing overly fancy or trendy in it but is great for the basics.

A Nigella one, it would double as bedside reading

nigella's prose is so purple though, definitely the worst thng about her books imo. The recipes are good though.

I prefer Nigel Slater though
