Gluten free breakfast ideas - help..

Hi, I am TRYING to follow a reduced/gluten free diet, to help get rid of my psoriasis. I was happily munching away on Kelloggs cornflakes for breakfast, until I googled it, and find they actually aren't gluten free..
So, any ideas for breakfast?? What cereals ARE gluten free (and are easily available, and dont taste like cardboard?)
Thanks..

also i think tesco own brand rice krispies are GF, but kelloggs are not

Sainsburys/Waitrose rice pops/coco pops are GF. Some of the Aldi ones are too.

Scrambled eggs/bacon ??

Thanks for the ideas. Not sure of coco pops are v nutritious, and think my Dc would kick up a stink if they saw me eating coco pops, whilst they ate weetabix... Will peruse the supermarket to see what i can find then. Thanks

How about gluten free bread for a cereal alternative? Quick and easy for toast.

Also fruit and yoghurt or eggs are nice Smile

bacon, eggs, mushrooms, hash browns. yum

whole earth cornflakes are gluten free. and not too pricey - available in all supermarkets.

gf porridge (usually rice/millet flakes) is ok, a bit gloopy. add fruit compote/honey/raisins ot make it edible.

gf pancakes (buckwheat) mix is good - just add water and whatever else you want (again, tend ot add honey/raisins)

bacon and egg?

scrambled egg on gf toast? (genius bread is good, but expensive)

Boiled egg with rice cakes and marmite is a good GF staple in our house, or cheese omelette. Rice Krispies always used to be GF, but as nannyl says, worth checking a few brands.

I think oats are gluten free, so porridge or wheat free muesli. Or toasted rye bread with your usual topping?

nannyl · 07/02/2011 15:38

most porridge oats contain gluten due to the way they are processed
