I have ordered one but what else can I cook in it apart from rice?

I found that the worst thing to do with it was to cook rice. I reverted to either the absorption method, or washing the rice before cooking, rinsing after and then reheat in microwave for 2-3 mins was better....

but I got mine in the 1990's and the inside 'bowl' bit is aluminium, not non-stick at all, so can't really comment about latest ones.
