what is worse 1 maybe 2 baekers of tea (5th of the beaker the rest milk) or 5 fruit shoots a day?

milky, unsugared tea is positively healthy.

ItsMeMo · 04/02/2011 12:07

Tea stains teeth and fruit shoots are full of rubbish.

Milk or water is best.

PuppyMonkey · 04/02/2011 12:07

I prefer the tea thanks. No sugar.

crazybubbasmummy · 04/02/2011 12:12

i forgot to say for children

why 5 fruitshoots? I dont give the kids tea but then I wouldnt give 5 fruitshoots either. They do have fruitshoots from time to time but mainly the H2O ones as they are mainly water.

HettyAmaretti · 04/02/2011 12:21

Neither is OK, IMHO. But I'd come down on the side of the 4/5 milk 'tea' if I had to do one or t'other with my DC.

It's quite a bizarre question, if you don't mind me saying so (well, even if you do). Why are you asking?

ariane5 · 04/02/2011 12:23

I would say that both are fine now and then. ive given my dd and ds a cup of tea on the odd occasion if they have asked for one (milky though hardly really tea at all!) and they have very occasionally had fruit shoots (usually at a party).

crazybubbasmummy · 04/02/2011 12:29

my sister thinks its terrible that i give my child tea yet her daughter is always fruit shoot in hand, so i cant help but wonder which is actually worse, other than the odd cup of tea which is basically just milk my child drinks water or very dialuted squash

So, why not just give slightly warmed milk?

Fruit shoots are not good (take a peek at the ingredients). An occasional one is fine, but 5 a day really is excessive.

HingCogNeeto · 04/02/2011 12:50

but why give your child tea anyway?

unless you are Northern

sittinghippo · 04/02/2011 15:51

I give my daughter the occasional cup of tea, I just really dont want her to become an adult that doesnt like tea! It just wouldnt be cricket dahling.

TrillianAstra · 04/02/2011 15:57

Why is it 2 tea vs 5 fruitshoot?

Neither is exactly poison.

ItsMeMo · 04/02/2011 22:29

sittinghippo, my mum gave me tea every evening with my evening meal to "warm me up" I can't stand the stuff now.
