Quick! Need to bake something for coffee morning and have no eggs.

Few mums coming round for tea at 9H30. I have no eggs and village shop only opens at 10am.

What can I make?

Have butter, flour, chocolate etc.

Someone once told me you can use a dollop of mayonnaise instead of each egg - it's only egg and oil when you think about it. I know there's a chocolate mayonnaise cake recipe - never made it but its meant to be quite moist and nice.

Or biscuits or scones, of course.

Do you have oats and golden syrup? If so flapjack.

If not - errr - shortbread maybe? Or does that need an egg?

cookies! mash up butter, sugar, flour with your hands with anything you want-choc or nuts- roll into balls, press down a bit on baking paper, bake. voila!

Can't you phone one of them and ask to bring a packet of biscuits over? That's what I do.

Just to let you lovely ladies know that I made a new 'Double-decker and Hellman's' chocolate-chip cookie of my own devising for this morning. And very tasty they were too!
