followed instructions carefully and made some microwave flapjacks but they are soggy i.e i couldn't pick one up without it falling into bits!
They haven't cooled yet completely, is that why? or should i cook them some more?
help, my baking ALWAYS goes tits up!

They will gel together as they cool.

anorak · 11/10/2005 11:27

cos the butter and syrup and stuff gets firmer as it cools.

phew! thanks!
I thought i'd done another disaster

I must be sad if i can't get flapjacks right

You're supposed to semi-cut them into bars before they set btw, or it might be hard to do when they've cooled.

Did you use butter or marge? Apparently butter sets better (according to another MN) and this is why I have the same problem with mine sometimes.

mugface · 11/10/2005 11:52

ah right, didn't know that, used marg.
I have cut them into squares. Must have done something wrong though because i just noticed that the recipe says makes 24 and i only have 9! Must have made them too thick.

So you made the cakes too big. Is that really a problem?

mugface · 11/10/2005 12:00

no, not for me
shouldn't be making cakes anyway, my diet started yesterday

anyone heard of the flapjack diet?
