Sunday lunch restaurant recommendations in Herts

As the title says, looking for a country restaurant or 'up-market' pub for 6 adults for lunch this Sunday. Happy with somewhere like Brocket Hall (though won't get in there at short notice), but doesn't have to be as posh as that!

We're North Herts, but are meeting up with in-laws who are on Herts/Essex borders, so somewhere in-between would be best.

Have done Tewinbury Farm previously too, but all other suggestions gratefully received.

kipling? never been myself, but when they were filming the saving private ryan in hatfield, apparently some of the crew and stars went there and loved it.

Bugger! Just tried to book Kiplings to be told that they aren't open for lunch on Sundays, only dinner!

Anyone got any other suggestions?
