Use by date is 8th Oct.

eat it - as someone else says, it doenst go off at the stroke of midnight!

NelsonsGirl · 09/10/2005 16:43

Not sure about Screameagle's chicken though as the packet has been opened some time and that could mean it goes off quicker than if the packet was unopened.

I would be a bit sus of the opened packet too. Usually if opening raw meat of any sort, I would wash and store any leftover raw meat in at least a pyrex type dish with a lid.

How does it smell/look?

im always v careful with use by dates, if its best before, it means you can still eat it for a few days past the date stamped on it, however use by is diff, i never eat things past their use by date and i think you have to be very careful with chicken especially.

Am doing lasagne now LOL, found a mix for one so seemed the best option. Haven't a clue what it'll turn out like cos i've never done one, delia I am not

It's in the oven as we speak. Having it with boiled pots, peas, green beans and a few frozen carrots that were floating round the freezer.
