Baby pasta

When my dd was little (she's now 6) I used dried pasta in the shape of stars and possibly alphabet shapes. They were really small and a big hit with her. Does anyone know if you can still get them. I think they may have been made by Organix. I've looked in the babyfood and pasta sections of Sainsburys, Tesco, Waitrose, Boots and Superdrug. Can anyone help? Thanks

You can buy baby pasta still, not sure what shapes they come in though. We got them in Asda and/or Morrisons and/or Sainsburys - can't remember which. That was last year.

I used the Organix pasta with my oldest two when they were babies. Haven't seen it about lately, but Marks and Spencer do a tricolour bow pasta in their kids range. My oldest two and my 1yr old enjoy it.

Baby Organix do Organic Pasta ABC's. I got them at my local supermarket I think, so they're definitely still about. I cna't make the link work & I'm too knackered to work out why. Try www.babyorganix.co.uk which has a list of stockists. Or how about a Nigella moment and use pastina. I've never seen it but if she says it's wonderful she must be right

Sainsburys do a mini pasta as part of their standard pasta range (think its used as a starter in Italy) so look in normal pasta aisle- they do 3 different shapes. They also stock a specific alphabet colour organic one which I think is in the same section but under 'organic pasta'

I use the Baby Organix ABC Pasta for DD1 - only place I can ever find it is in Safeway in the baby aisle.

alibubbles · 05/09/2003 09:51

Waitrose do it too

wickedstepmother · 05/09/2003 10:13

They sell them in our Tesco (Worcester). Can;t find them on Tesco online though. Have you tried Boots babyfood selection ? I seem to remember them selling the little star shaped ones ?

In the Tesco organic aisle they do kids pasta in coloured (red, green, white) letters or animals.

I gave my dd the soup pasta from tescos from about 7 months, it was such a hit with her at one point I thought she would turn into a pasta bow! She still requests "baby" pasta to this day. I found the actual baby pasta just went soggy - could be my cooking though...

mieow · 06/09/2003 22:22

Safeways used to sell it.

We are lucky enough to have a good Italian Deli locally which sells hundreds of different types of pasta - including tiny stars which are meant for adding to soup. They are perfect for babies and children. I cook loads and freeze in ice cube trays, and defrost three or four at a time (I found it impossible to cook up small enough quantities for only one meal at a time)
Sorry if that's not much help - basically I'm saying you might have more luck with a specialist shop rather than the supermarket.

Peter Rabbit Organics do a baby pasta. Waitrose sell it.

I second the tiny stars. I DD loves them mixed up with a little butter, some grated cheese and a smidge of marmite. That is my favourite comfort food

BariatricObama · 22/02/2010 12:51

i never really got teh whole furore about baby pasta

BariatricObama · 22/02/2010 12:52

mmj - why where you moved to resurrect this?

Rockbird · 22/02/2010 12:52

You can get them in Waitrose as well btw

JodieO · 22/02/2010 12:53

Why not try the pasta for soup? I'm pretty sure it would be cheaper and it's the same thing, you just pay for the name of "baby pasta" iyskim.

Rockbird · 22/02/2010 12:53

Oh sod it

Rosa · 22/02/2010 12:56

I use small pasta
I know you can get some Barilla in the Uk but these are fab I always have several boxes in !
When I am in the Uk and have run out I buy Annabel Karmel pasta from Boots - letter shapes

Rosa · 22/02/2010 12:58
