Funky yet sturdy adult lunch bag suggestions

Would like something insulated with shoulder strap. Has to be able to accommodate around 3 plastic tubs (like the kind you get takeaway food in - in fact exactly like that). I take in my breakfast as well lunch hence why it needs to be large enough and sturdy. Don't take drinks though as have water bottle at work.

I'd like something the size of this but want something funkier and with a shoulder strap as well as handles. Oh and please no Cath Kidston .

Any ideas.....?

Thermos do a version with a shoulder strap, it's not funky but you can get them in R.Dyas.

Thanks. Thermos is the one I linked to above, do you know if it's the same?

Any funkier models out there?

Paperchase do some lovely ones. I have only seen them in the fairer weather though.

How about a Built NY one, like this or this?

They're made of wetsuit material, so insulate well, but are also machine washable, so you don't get the horrible gunk stuck in the seams like with most insulated lunch bags.

exexpat · 24/01/2011 21:19

...or what I really fancy is one of their Alexander Girard collection ones, but I don't know if anyone in the UK stocks them.

Starsandplanets · 24/01/2011 21:33

Exexpat - they are lovely. I love the iPad covers.

Did you used to be starexpat?

exexpat · 24/01/2011 21:46

I've got a Built NY netbook case as well as a couple of lunchbags. And a wine carrier and bigger bag for bringing cold stuff back from the supermarket.

No, I've always been exexpat - there are a few of us expats around, as I discovered when I'd already been here for a few months.

bunjies · 26/01/2011 11:14

Oh wow, i love that Alexander Girard one but gulping at the price. But should really go for a practical shoulder strap. Can't view the others as I'm work atm and they don't allow us to view ebay.

My search continues.

Bunjies - the ebay ones I linked to do have shoulder straps but are also not cheap. Very hard-wearing though... They also have them on Amazon here and here, if you are allowed to look at Amazon.

Or there was another thread on this subject recently and someone linked to this one which is quite cool, but no shoulder strap.

bunjies · 26/01/2011 21:13

Aaaahhh exexpat. You are a wicked temptress. I am in love with the Built NY microdot one but I think I will have to be strong and walk away. I cannot justify spending that much on a lunch bag Sad.

MrsMagnolia - they do look very practical but was hoping for something more stylish.

Any birthdays coming up soon? Or do your DCs have any Amazon vouchers they have forgotten about? Wink
Sorry for leading you into the path of temptation, but you did ask...

bunjies · 28/01/2011 10:30

I know! Unfortunately birthday not til August but I do get a work discount with Amazon......
I think I'd better keep an eye out for something cheaper though.

Anyone have any more suggestions?
