How should I mash my neeps?

Every time I cook haggis the neeps are all lumpy.

I make sure they are cooked properly and they do taste nice, but I have tried a metal masher and a plastic masher all lumpy; the worst was a potato ricer,.Hmm neep juice anyone?

What is the best tool for the job?

If you have cooked them long enough they'll be soft enough to mash with a metal potato masher.

I mix in butter, a little milk & seasoning.

You need to cook them longer than potatoes and make sure you use the big turnips (called swedes in England).

I'm looking forward to my haggis Smile
