Bump! I know some of you must have had one! Please don't tell me you all steamed your own matured-for-a-year-in-the-pantry for 8 hours!

Microwave. Do it for a couple of minutes at a time and stick a metal skewer in to the middle. If the skewer is vey hot when touched shiner your lip, it's cooked

Touched "against" your lip. Don't know what happened there!

Catsmamma · 16/01/2011 21:04

yes and on half power too

i think i did mine for about 5 mins on half and then another couple

watch that skewer on the lip though, no one wants a blistered top lip! Shock

Thanks, ladies! Didn't have it yesterday after all but really don't want to throw it out.

Personally found microwaving M&S puds makes them incredibly dry. I simmer in a pan of water that comes halfway up the pudding basin for 2.5 hours. Stays lovely and moist that way.
