Fool-proof ice-cream recipe?

I've just taken delivery of a shiny new ice-cream maker - well, a cheapy Kenwood one anyway. Wondered if anyone regularly makes ice-cream and has a tried & tested recipe, preferably not with ready made custard? Thanks!

Don't have the measurements, but you can do a totally cheaty one with condensed milk, whole milk and whatever flavour you like (vanilla extract, coffee, nutella etc). Just mix that all up to the capacity of your machine (1lt I'm guessing if it's the cheap and cheerful one like mine) and off you go.
