magimix 3200 or 4200?

anyone got the smaller size and wished they'd gone bigger than was strictly necessary, say for dinner parties, making stuff for freezer?

we fit the 3200 size recommendation (two adults, one toddler) but if we do entertain then there are usually at least six adults?

or does it really not matter in the greater scheme of things?? would love to hear your views

get the bigger one. you won't regret it

Just got the ?5200 and it's never yet been too big.

well, I just checked in the kitchen and I have the 5200. I wouldn't want it any smaller.

I've got the 3200, I do loads of cooking, sometimes for large groups of 20+ and I have never wanted a bigger one.

oo-er. i was veering towards the bigger one until french fancy's comment. now the fog of indecision has descended again (raaaargh?)

I guess it depends what you'll use it for. I often make things like potato dauphinoise and slice the potatoes in there - I can't see how the 3200 would be big enough to hold a load of sliced potato (tho you could keep emptying it I guess). If you intend to make pastry in a big batch (I sometimes make double and freeze half) you'd also want the bigger one. Is ther much difference in price?

Looks like the 4200 is about the same price and 5200 is only about £30 more. Perhaps the bigger one would take up more cupboard/counter space though.

i read that the 4200 only has a slightly bigger "footprint". i remember reading in delia's book that she said get the biggest one you can afford ...

i guess i need to go to john lewis to see them in the flesh, as it were

what about if you have the big one and only do small quantities of food (like a 3 egg cake), would it miss bits if there wasn't enough in the bowl?
