I'm not used to cooking meat, but I'm trying to make a beef mince pie for the kids right now. When I added it to the pan it wasn't all red, the edges were a bit brown. Straight from the fridge. Is is ok to use or does this mean it has started to turn? It smells ok. WWYD?

If it smells ok I would use the red bits but not the brown and made sure you cooked it really well.

Brown bits are fine. My mince is often like this.
I'd use it as long as it hasn't seriously gone off.

It's fine, mince often discolours.
