I think our DS has too much milk and too little food, hence waking all night. He is not intersted in solids but if I cut the milk down assume he might get there.

Tried to follow Gina method, if anyone can tell me what 8 month one is please post, have lost my book.

Also any 8 month old patters please. I need sleep!!

At mo,

7am milk
refuses breakfast
1030am milk
1130aam few teaspoons of solids/petit filous
230pm milk
5pm tea, normally good appetite here.
615pm milk

and then it all goes wrong

9pm milk
2am milk a

and awake a lot Sad am exhausted

He is a big baby 22,7lbs

Hiya,
I had a similar problem, but seemed to have cracked it since changing my LO's feeding schedule. Try to give solids first and then at least 1 1/2 hr break before milk - otherwise they fill up on milk.

Here's our schedule:
06:30 - 07:00 wake-up, breastfeed 5- 10 mins (comfort feeding only)
08:00 Breakfast (Cereal, fruit, cheese on toast finger food)
09:00 Milk (5 - 6 oz)
NAP 1 - 1 1/2 hrs
12:00 Lunch (Meat,veg and fruit)
NAP 1 hr
14:30 Milk (6oz)
16:00 Snack (Yoghurt/Finger food)
Walk/Nap
17:30 -18:00 Dinner (Meat, veg - no fruit as it makes him open his bowels in the middle of the night!)
Bath/Massage
19:00 Milk 6-8oz
19:30- 20:00 Bed

He was waking up for his dream feed until I changed to this schedule, but now sleeps through to morning. Unfortunately he is also teething and has had a cold so sometimes does wake up for a cuddle (I have given him cooled boiled water if he does wake up in the middle of the night)

Hope this helps. And don't worry if he does not finish off his bottle, so long as he is getting his calcium in his solids (yoghurt/cheese/milk in cooking)

I seem to remember finishing the day, post bath, with a late snack of squashed banana and baby-rice, mixed, followed by a warm milk. That would have been around 7pm-ish and seemed to conk him hour for hours on end.

is he bottle fed? If so try reducing the volume he has a tiny bit. And try to fill him up before bed time, mine liked apple or pear puree mixed with full fat natural yogurt, plus milk. Might be worth while reducing tea a bit, so he is hungry at bed time. When mine were really tiny I think I mixed the fruit puree with baby rice but I gave that up as they both liked the yogurt much more, and it's like having concentrated milk really. And perhaps offer just a bit of milk before breakfast, followed by some solids when he is still hungry, and then fill up on more milk if he wants it.

Good luck, mine are now 4 & 8 but still have a bowl of yogurt every night before bed.
