what is it? Beef, maybe, chicken, prob not.

Mum2girls · 04/10/2005 15:27

ah yes, beef - I would defrost it and if it smelled ok, I would use it.

Furball · 04/10/2005 15:27

me too and we've had longer

Nbg · 04/10/2005 15:28

Silly questio from someone quite dim but why would it be no good?

well I would imagine the texture has deteriorated somewhat, there may be freezer burn and it may be dry and the flavour effected but it depends what your'e used to I suppose

Mum2girls · 04/10/2005 15:30

should you really take food hygiene advice from someone called furball??

no offence furball

HemlockLGJ · 04/10/2005 15:30

It mentions meat further down,

Nbg · 04/10/2005 15:31

lol!

Anyway, whats wrong with furballs?

I think I'll defrost it tomorrow and let dh do the sniff test. I can't do things like that.

Good site Hemlock

Nbg · 04/10/2005 15:33

Thanks for that LGJ.

So it is quite safe but it might taste revolting.

Thats fine, can cope with that.

Turn it in to a curry, no one will know and we won't tell.

Nbg · 04/10/2005 15:37

It'll be a cold day in hell if I got dh to eat a curry!

Was going to do boring stew and dumplings but my mum brought me 2 of the Jamie Oliver supplements from the Guardian today so I might pinch an idea from there.

I ate a pork joint last night from last dec was fine, as long as it's not smelly when defrosted u let it thaw properly and then over cook it slightly should be OK. just make sure it's well thawed and properly cooked thru.

munz · 04/10/2005 15:41

(ooh also got DH to eat any b4 I dished up - he said was ok)

Nbg · 04/10/2005 15:42

Well Porks a bit more riskier than Beef isn't it so if that was ok then I'm sure the beef will.

Right am off to cook before dh comes home and catches me on here again.

is it? did double check with mum b4 cooking it - tasted OK - so far no repocussions of any sort!
