Kitchen aid (or other) ice cream maker?

Hi,
I am considering getting one of these as want to start making ice cream..
Has anyone used one?
Would love to know if it is any good.... or
are there any other brands you could recommend?

I have the little £35-40 one (I think it's a Magimix) where you put the bowl in the freezer. It works really well but only makes 1lt of ice cream at a time and with my lot that doesn't last too long. But as a starting point I'd say it was worth it. My two like going strawberry picking then making icecream with me when we get home.
