What to replace Mascarpone with?

The recipe that I use for Chicken Cacciatore uses 4 tbsp of Mascarpone in the sauce, and I was planning on cooking it for some friends next week until I realized that one of them is allergic to cheese. Any ideas of what would make a good substitute? I've never ventured off track with this recipe before Confused

Just leave it out. My chicken cacciatore doesn't have cheese in and it is delish.

I can't leave it out Shock!! Grin

It adds a lovely creamyness to the sauce, I find without it, it's just chicken in a tangy tomato sauce Confused

mascarpone is not really cheese though is it??

AND I don't believe in most allergies

...on a more helpful note, maybe creme fraiche if you want that creaminess

Marscapone is like a thick double cream; is yr friend allergic to ALL dairy? if not she may be okay with it,if yes you can get rice cream or silken tofu would work.

Check first if the allergy is just to cheese or all dairy. If just cheese, then use naural yoghurt or creme fraiche.

I always thought it was more of a cheese than cream Blush

Tbh, I don't actually believe she is allergic to it, it started when she was younger, I just don't think she likes it and has always used the allergy excuse Wink but I don't want to risk it Grin

Thanks for the suggestions :)
