I was going to post this on the low-cost meals thread but I've got a terrible habit of hijacking threads, so I thought I'd better start my own!

smittenkitchen.com/ Smitten Kitchen is fab, can't wait for her book to come out.

I love the fact that she's pretty fat & sugar conscious too. OK, there's some cake recipes on there that are never going to be health food, but if you read the description of how she developed the recipe, she's often changed other versions to reduce vast quantities of sugar.

Anyway, do any other SK fans want to tell me what they've been cooking from this site?

I've done the asparagus pizza, which was delish, also the blueberry crumb bars (did a Christmas version too with orange and cranberry), also apple latkes, and the mango slaw... oh, so many things Smile

Hopeforthebest, your meal planning sounds great :). I get obsessional about meal planning too, what's the harm with a bit of obsessionality I say, nothing at all!

CountBapula · 03/02/2011 12:17

Maria and Hope, I am a bit scared of you but utterly inspired by you at the same time! Grin

Maria2007loveshersleep · 03/02/2011 14:29

CountBapula, no need to be scared, my meal plan falls apart as many times as it works. But I do admit I enjoy doing it & more generally I have a streak of obsessionality which might explain why I do it Grin.

Seriously though, it helps to save money & also to avoid waste.

Ooh, just seen this thread and simply had to post to extol the magnificence of... Cauli and Caramelised Onion Tart

YUM

I have made it quite a few times and every time it has managed to convince doubters and naysayers - you know the ones, who NEED to have meat in every meal, or who 'don't do cauliflower'. Am sounding a bit 'knitted lentils' here, I don't mean to (for I am not), but this is just so delicious it turns my head.

You don't need to convince me, I'm sold! (though my Excel skills aren't what they used to be ... Grin)
