What should I sit my baby when I start weaning her?

This maybe sounds like a stupid question, but I am hoping to start weaning my daughter next week and I wondered if anyone had any advice as to what I should set her in while I give her the first solids? As she can't sit up herself I assume I can't use a highchair or booster seat but she has a bouncy chair that she likes, could I just use that?

This is my first baby and I do feel a real amateur sometimes!

Hi Cherelynn

Yes, some babies do go off their food when teething. My son certainly did and he usually eats for England.
Although probably not appropriate for brand new solid eaters, my friend suggests putting a banana (peeled) in the freezer and letting your baby get messy knawing on the frozen banana. While most of it will end up on the floor one can only hope that some goes down the gullet!

We used DD's rocker chair to start with as you could sit it up quite well; then got a proper highchair when she was about 5 months and was sitting up on her own properly.

Can I echo the advice on covering up baby and chair for some foods though. I agree - carrot stains don't budge!!!

Hi there, Monkey have you bought your Bumbo yet? I came across the Bumbo website and decided to buy one for baby #3 dd. I searched for the best posible price Grobag is 25.00 pounds and I found it for 21.00 pounds at www.firststepsltd.co.uk/ I am orig. from the UK but residing in the US right now so this will cost me 21.00 pounds plus 4 pounds shipping and handling. I checked Mothercare.com {which I love!{} but 27.50 pounds was the most expensive.
