Hi all, am trying to run down/use up a lot of the atuf I've had in cupboards or ages and have loads of dried red and green lentils. Think I bought them for some soup ages ago.

Any thoughts on a nice supper that would use them up?

Thanks

Lentil curry, Lentil pate. Lentil soup.

Make a soup with the red ones - fry some onion and garlic and diced carrots, then add some turmeric, chilli flakes, cumin seeds, ginger, mustard seeds, then a tin of coconut milk, some lentils, some water - cook then add lots of lemon juice and black pepper. Blend or eat as is.

Or google Nigella's vegetarian chilli, which is made with red lentils and is v good.

Red lentils can be chucked into anything made with mince and magically disappear! A handful in spag bol, chilli or anything else like that stretches the meat and thickens the sauce nicely, and lentil-phobes won't even notice!

I put red ones in a lasagne sometimes to bulk it out. dhal is lovely too I use this Delia recipe.

Lentil, bacon & tomato soup. I will post a recipe if it appeals?
