So I have a panini press...

Have done a tuna melt and some prosciutto and mozzarella on ciabatta.

DH bought muffins earlier and DD is asking if some sort of bacon and egg ensemble would work. I have no idea if the heat would cook the bacon within the sandwich and what I might do with the eggs. Does anyone know please?

I'm also wondering what your favourite toasted-type sandwiches are

Well DH has just laughed about the bacon, I don't usually eat or cook meat if that's an excuse

you would want to scramble or fry the eggs i guess, and precook the bacon

all the press will do is kind of toast the outside. so anything that needs cooking (as opposed to just melting like cheese) would need to be pre-cooked

Panini presses make fabulous crispy bacon.

We have one on the PTA at school and I always make shedloads of bacon sarnies on it for the workers.

so do the bacon on the press, clean it down and then make the panini

DH has done just that funnily enough, except without cleaning it. The fat has made the bread nicer apparently

i would do bacon, brie and cranberry sauce...

Then add fresh egg mayo to the bacon panini.... mmm

My DS is autistic and one of the three few things he will eat is fried bread.

"Paulo" the panini press did that exceedingly well with bread dipped in olive oil.

Bacon is also done very nicely collision very crisp and flat

My DS's current panini press combo is Nutella and banana on thick white bread
