I don't see why not - her ham in cherry coke uses cherry jam with a touch of spice added by smoked paprika as a glaze and it's very nice. We're having it Boxing Day

I have just finished my ham in coke.
I used a mustard, brown sugar and cider with spices glaze.
Even if I say so myself it looks delicious.
Sure you can glaze with anything.
It will still be yummy.

Hi can you tell me when doing the roasting part of the ham do you cover it in tinfoil or leave it with nothing, I have mine in the oven now but I've covered it with tinfoil

ClaireDeLoon · 23/12/2010 20:11

I don't cover it in tinfoil.

tassisssss · 23/12/2010 20:12

I don't think the glaze adds a huge lot TBH, do whatever you fancy!

fin54 · 23/12/2010 20:16

ok thanks, just seen Gordon Ramsey do his and he didn't cover it so the tinfoil is off lol THANKS girls

Hi I am doing the ham in coke for christmas lunch with roast pots and lots of veg, what sauce or gravy would you serve with this?

MummieHunnie · 24/12/2010 01:02

A former friend did this for us once, I didn't rate it that much to be honnest, a bit of honey on top at the end of cooking is just as nice and far less bother imho!

geraldinetheluckygoat · 24/12/2010 10:19

Im about to do this, can someone tell me, with the glaze, if I used redcurrant jelly, what would I put with it and how much would you use please? Im a total Ham Novice!! I am using cherry coke for the ham....

mollymax · 24/12/2010 10:42

I think all you need to do is but the jelly in a pan and reduce down by boiling it.

geraldinetheluckygoat · 24/12/2010 11:24

ok thanks Mollymax. Have sent dh out on a mission to get powdered mustard, so when he ultimately comes back with something completely inappropriate, I will follow your advice on the rc jelly! Grin

Grin I am sure it will taste delicious.
