Boil it in cider with an onion, bay leaf, cloves.

Take it out, score fat and stud with cloves, pat with english mustard and cover with dark muscavado sugar, roast in oven....soooo good!

Couldn't even begin to give you times/quantities all done by eye and depends on how much mulled wine I've been drinking but always works out perfectly.

Slow cook in coca cola.
Make a glaze with brown sugar, mustard, honey and spices.
Slap on and roast.
Delicious.

Coca cola as well - Nigella's recipe as per Mollymax, but if you skip the roasting stage at the end it will still be delicious.

Ooh marking my place for ideas. I found a great spicy recipe when I googled the other day, but haven't made a final decision yet Smile

Always wanted to try cola but am too scared of ruining a good piece of meat, can you taste the cola at all - I wouldn't mind but DH really hates the stuff to drink.

mollymax · 21/12/2010 16:58

You can not taste the coke.
If you did not know, you would not know.
I always do it this way now.
Give it a go, but do not tell dh!
:)

If you are a bit too apprehensive about the coca cola recipe (as i was) Nigella has an equally brilliant ginger ham recipe cooked in ginger ale and roasted in ginger preserve (amongst other things - not the entire recipe have a look on her website). Absolutely delicious!!
