Without a slow cooker?

Maybe including mint as my DSS is mad for lamb and mint combo :)

I made a casserole out of them a couple of weeks ago. I put veg, lamb shanks and a bit of mint into the gravy along with other bits and bobs into the oven and just left it to cook. :)

in the oven or on the hob, slowly.

That sounds good, how long roughly would 3 of them take? Or rather how do I know when they are cooked?

they're cooked when the meat begins to fall off the bone easily.
3-4 hours maybe?

you won't do them any harm by overcooking so err on the side of over rather than under.

Thanks that's great. Was planning on doing roast lamb but these were cheaper and we are already having a roast at Xmas anyway. This'll make a nice change :)

I left them in until the veg were cooked so maybe a couple of hours but like seth said they were still lovely and tender even having been in for that amount of time. :)
