Excited About Fruit & Veg!

I received my first organic fruit & veg box today and was most excited! I've been trying to find a scheme for a while and finally discovered one. As it's just two of us atm I ordered a 10gbp box and received potatoes, carrots, onions, courgette, lettuce, one of those green-pointy-cauliflowery-things, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, avocados, bananas, apples, pears and oranges. That seems pretty good value to me, I'm very pleased.

sounds like a great selection! Is that through a local supplier or national scheme?
We gave them a go years ago but unfortunately we used to get box after box of celeriac and beetroot....believe me there wasn't a recipe we didn't try to make celeriac seem exciting and beetroot edible

We too got our first box this week and tonight for the first time, the kids had stir fried pak choi for dinner!

I've just checked what's in next week's box and it all looks delicious. Hornbag, nowadays some suppliers let you check what you are getting in next week's box so you can substitute what you don't like.

They're called Lembas and only have local contact details (no email!) so I think they must be local. We had cauliflower cheese with the green-pointy-thingy tonight and I used onions and pots to make soup. Lol at the celeriac and beetroot - I like both but not in those quantities! There's a list included with my box so I can make my own selection but if this week's is typical I think I'll go with the flow. It comes on a Weds which is quite useful for planning the w/end shopping.

Ours is from Riverford, and i always get excited every friday morning when it arrives. Not keen on the chard though! gives me such satisfaction giving dd the good stuff! but do have 10 gallons of borsch in freezer! any takers?
