I'm inexplicably drawn to the Nigella recipes that look or sound a bit yuk as well. Confused

mugggletoeandwine · 18/12/2010 15:10

I though that trifle would be OK if it wasn't for the apricots. I don't like them, they are dry and furry and quite frankly, not nice.

FellatioNelson · 18/12/2010 15:11

Tinned ones though - or peaches. In syrup and alcohol. What's not to like?

Agree about fresh apricots. I don't know why we bother in this country. We can't do them at all. All woolly and tasteless.

mugggletoeandwine · 18/12/2010 15:12

Everything I've made from Nigella's new book has been really good, I'd recommend it, but this I'm not sure about.
We like to bake on Saturdays though and as we had to miss panto because of the cunting annoying snow, I let DD choose.

I should be leering at John Barrowman now. Xmas Sad

That is the very recipe . Sorry been out all afternoon just back. Oh I really need to make it NOW

sharbie · 18/12/2010 16:10

those thornton squares are even more gorge if you put them in the fridge

deaconblue · 18/12/2010 17:22

ooh sorry for not coming back sooner. Teh sandwiches were chocolate wiht a kind of choc crisp layer, caramel which were the nicest and rapsberry which had pips in so not so good. Overly sweet agreed but I love that...
Thorntons caramel shortbreads - OMG. A friend brought over a pack for a dvd evening, she ate 2, I ate 3 (and then when she went home I shovelled a further 4 in before I went to bed!!!)

Are they made with bread, like normal sarnies?

I don't think they sound nice.

deaconblue · 18/12/2010 20:28

no is thinly sliced cake
