Big Top - cake recipe?

Hiya,

I bought a Big Top cake mold to make my daughter's 1st birthday cake, not realising that the only 'instructions' it contains is to buy 2 x cake mixes! Shock

I'd much prefer to make my own (particularly as my nephew has a nut allergy Sad and I want to be sure he can have some cake), but haven't a clue how much mix to make...

Anyone got a tried and tested recipe for this mold?

Many thanks!

Is this one of those huge cup cake things? If so, I would try a Madeira as it is fairly firm and should take the shape quite well. I don't know the volume of the pan though, so recipe quantity could be difficult.

Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high).
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).
