I have an ice cream maker on the way to me as I type (though with the delivery networks struggling God knows when it will arrive...)

Anyway, I made an ice cream the other day using the non ice cream maker method. It was caramel, nutmeg and brandied raisin - kind of an alternative to brandy butter. The recipe is here if anyone wants it.

Does anyone else have any good ice cream recipes to share? I am dying to get going once the machine arrives!

DH just likes vanilla.

I try all sorts of exciting flavours and all he will eat is vanilla.

Obviously you are looking for something more interesting than that so my top recommendation is Delia's rhubarb crumble ice cream. It's fab and it's a good one for winter when the forced rhubarb comes out. Even rhubarb haters wolf it down. Except DH.

Ooh, now that does sound lovely - I like crunchy bits in ice cream. I wonder if raspberry crumble would work too? Mmmm
