Has anybody done this in a slow cooker? If so, how did you adapt the recipe and how long did you cook it for etc?

I'm going to do it. I don't know the recipie but Im just going to bung in the ham and coke and leave it on low all day. Sure it will be good.

how was it?

MaisonCupcakeBlog · 18/12/2010 11:51

It will cook no problem at all, although if you are doing the phase where you crust it up with treacle or whatever she suggests you will need to finish it in the oven. Personally I never bother with that stage as I'm pretty lazy!!

What kind of ham do you use? Just a big boneless joint?

How much Coke do you put into the slow cooker? I would really like to try this for mil on christmas eve - but I need it to work!

When is the programme on where Nigella shows us how to roast a turkey? I'm hoping to see a game bird with fine breasts and firm thighs and... Oh, insert your own joke, it's too easy.

I haven't done it in the slow cooker, but it is pretty easy done in a saucepan and then roasted as per recipe. Great idea to take to your MIL's, it works well every time and tastes so much niver than bought ham.
