Chocolate covered coffee beans

I am making food christmas presents this year and thought this would be an easy little extra. I have chucked them in melted chocolate and spread them out to dry, but the chocolate layer seems far too thin. Do I need to do it again? But then the layer which is on already might just melt? Has anyone made them before?

Thanks! x

I haven't, but why not just have a go. If the first layer is really cold, and the chocolate into which you dip it isn't too hot, it shouldn't melt it too much.

I think professionally that they use something like a lauderette-sized tumble drier that cools them gradually so that they dry shiny. Don't know if it's possible to get this finish at home.

It was a lot more work than it looks separating them all out! They look very " artisan" but think they will have to do.
