Can someone recommend a nice London restaurant for 10th anniversary?

DH is taking me for a weekend in London next weekend for our 10th anniversary. We are staying at One Aldwych (I think) and would like to go out for dinner Sat night (somewhere I won't look out of place in my LBD)

We used to live in London a few years back so all the restaurants we used to go to are probably no more! Also am I kidding myself we will get a table anywhere the Sat before Xmas?

Any recommendations please?

If you like fish, J Sheekey is hard to beat

I liked Clos Maggiore (French) in Covent Garden. It has an impressive and pungent cheese trolley and is a lovely intimate setting!

If you're looking for British food, I would say Scotts. Had a quick look on their website and you can get a table but at either 6.30pm or 10pm so may not be ideal.

Bentleys is also very good and I booked quite last minute there a couple of weeks ago and had no trouble getting a table when every where else was booked up.

Hope you have a lovely anniversary!

Thanks for the ideas! Happysmiley - you were right, managed to get a table at Bentleys for 8pm. I've never tried oysters so might give them a go too! Looking forward to the champagne bar too

OOh, Benleys is v good, I'm sure you will enjoy. We had the fish pie for main and can highly recommend it!

If you can, ask to sit downstairs. Upstairs is a bit more proper. Downstairs looked like good fun and had a pianist playing the night we went.
