Am I wrong, or is the recipe?

I just tried to make these.

www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/speculaasbiscuitstra_90641

Now, I did think the addition of baking powder was a weird one for cut-out biscuits, and lo and behold, they spread out and now look nothing like little Chrsitmas trees.

So. Is it just me that's done it wrong, or is it them hairy bikers who shouldn't have included baking powder?

I do use baking powder or soda in my cookie recipes. IMHO there's an egg missing.

I don't trust the Hairy Bikers recipes from the bbc site - I've done a few which were missing essential ingredients

i wouldn't use baking powder for that kind of biscuit

I use baking powder for cookes too Jacinda, but not if you want to hold the shape with cookie cutters.

I added 1oz flour and made them into cookies... They're nice.
