Can I make mash with them even tho they have little eyes, or does it really kill you?

OP posts:
Poledra · 08/12/2010 11:50

Well, if they do, I've been dead for years.

Woooooohooooooooooo! (ghostly noises, in case you don't get it Grin)

Rollmops · 08/12/2010 11:50

Urban myth and one that I've never heard of.
Then again, I was raised in the country for the most part...

GandalfyCarawak · 08/12/2010 11:51

I am also dead. Unlike POledra, however, I am a silent and scary kind of ghost to make up for my incessant jabbering in life.

juneybean · 08/12/2010 11:52

Something about there being poison in the green bits?

I just ignore it though... Grin

winnybella · 08/12/2010 11:56

here

Didn't know they belong to the nightshade family.

taffetazatyousantaclaus · 08/12/2010 12:24

eyes fine, green not

just cut out

DanZZZenAroundTheTreeAgain · 08/12/2010 12:24

Just hack out the eyes

If the skins are greenish, they are not good

DanZZZenAroundTheTreeAgain · 08/12/2010 12:32

maybe the greenish ones are ok if you don't just peel with a peeler but cut quite deeply with a knife and throw a fair bit away. I really don't know.

dreamingofsun · 08/12/2010 13:39

we're always eating green potatoes with no ill effects. just make sure you peel a bit of extra skin away, till you get down to the white bit

nickeldonkeyonadustyroad · 08/12/2010 16:53

green potatoes are poisonous.
raw potatoes are not digestible (they give you tummy ache)

sprouting potatoes are fine .
