Reheated bolognaise...?

Cooked a big pot last night, have got home ad instead of taking a portion out to reheat, DH has reheated the whole pot. Will it be OK to pop the leftovers in the freezer to eat another night? So it has been cooked, heated up, cooled then frozen to be reheated.....

Yes it will be fine. Before the days of fridges, the standard way to keep food for longer was to boil it up once a day, thus killing that days crop of bugs.

(make sure it has been properly boiled tonight though, as well as when you use it, not just warmed)

Thanks. Grimma, you have just started another row between DH and me, I have just stopped (after many years) him from doing the boiling up every day thing.... (as his parents do)... I fear your comment may start him off again!

But I always boil it well after freezing it so will store it for future use. Thanks.

Duh - you only do the boiling up every day if you don't have a fridge, let alone a freezer. My mother used to do it because she had to, gave it up as soon as we got a fridge.

You can tell your DH that I do not condone this waste of energy and neither would my mum. (and if he knew her, he wouldn't argue)Grin
